Dave Smith
Entered the industry in 1974 as a
Lighting Designer. Spent four years in America
working for The Zomba Corporation in New York. Upon returning to
the UK, concentrated on television and major one off shows
across the entertainment spectrum from rock through to jazz,
classical concerts to product launches as lighting designer,
operator, production co-ordinator.
Joined Light and Sound Design in
1991 to manage their new Special Projects department.
Notable projects include 1992 Barcelona Olympics, 10,000
Voice choir in Cardiff and Dublin and the Goodwill Games in St
Petersburg for CNN.
Left LSD in 1996 to concentrate on
technical co-ordination of large one-off television
or special events which have included: The Brits, Janet Jackson
for HBO in Hawaii, Tina Turner at Wembley and numerous filmed
productions for Cirque du Soleil worldwide.
An optioned author who contributes
regularly to technical trade magazines.
