Chris Rea and the return
of the Hofner Blue Notes
Charged with the
impossible, Lighting Designer, Paul Kelle, needed something
subtle yet dramatic and certainly not to brash as to take
anything away from Chris Rea's music for the forthcoming
tour. He conceived of a backdrop of guitars, some
distressed, some flown, some floor mounted and turned to
Specialz to give some of them a different look. After
discussions with Specialz Technical Director Keith Owen,
electro-illuminescent cable was deemed the way forward and
Paul was pleased with the highly effective, but not too
overstated final look.
Kelle remarked' "The final
look was great as it also linked neatly into some of Chris's
paintings, so there was a neat continuity of his work
as a painter and a musician"
